How it all began

When the idea for Schau auf di was conceived, Michael and his wife Irene were already running a cosmetics and foot care studio.
They worked with a wide variety of products every day – and kept asking the same question:

Why is it so hard to find skincare products you can truly trust?

Instead of making grand promises, they were concerned with something else:
Clear ingredients, honest recipes, and products that they themselves would use without doubt.

They couldn't find these products.
So they started developing their own.

The first products are being tested.

Learn, try out, understand

The first two products were developed in collaboration with a regional pharmacy:
a lavender balm and a foot balm.

In 2015, Michael completed his training as a cosmetics manufacturer. A small laboratory was set up in the studio – there, things were stirred, tested, and discarded.
Not to finish quickly.
But to understand what skin really needs.

Over time, more products were added:
a hand balm, a face cream with hazelnut oil, later the Balance face cream.

Everything arose from practical experience.
And everything was homemade.

The step towards your own brand

Over time, demand grew beyond the studio. Customers also wanted the products for home use – independent of treatments.

In 2017, Michael and Christopher finally founded Schau auf di as their own brand.
Not out of a desire for expansion, but out of a wish to make the products accessible – without compromises on quality, origin or control.

The studio no longer offered the necessary space for that.
And so, during the 2020 lockdown, the current location on Weitraer Straße came into being:
a factory with a showroom – and a conscious insight into the production process.

A place where the process of creating care becomes visible.

Today – everything from one source

We manufacture every single product ourselves.
From the initial idea to the recipe, mixing, bottling, labeling, and shipping.

Nothing is outsourced.
And nothing happens anonymously.

We know our raw materials, their origin, and the people behind them.
We decide for ourselves what goes into our products – and what doesn't.

This independence is not a marketing promise.
It is the foundation of our work.

Why we work this way

Because we believe that trust can only be built where responsibility is taken.
For ingredients.
For processes.
And for what you put on other people's skin.

Our products are not meant to impress.
They are supposed to work.

Honest.
Reduced.
And formulated in such a way that we use them ourselves every day.

What this means for you

You get products where you know where they come from.
What's inside.
And why they are exactly the way they are.

No empty promises.
No unnecessary additives.

But care you can trust.
